Frequently Asked Questions

What is a maker fair?

A maker fair promotes the creative work of “makers”. This work can be a science project, invention, gadget, knickknack, or work of art. If you take various components and turn it in to something more using your creativity, you are a maker!

The Geiger Maker Fair will showcase the work of Geiger students and the Geiger community. Makers will have a space to display their work, and are encouraged to spend time answering questions and talking about their work. Accommodations such as tables, power, etc. are available with sufficient notice.

Who can participate?

Anyone who is a student, parent of a student, or even a member of the Geiger community can participate.

Do I need to apply?

Applications are not required for Geiger students, as projects will be coordinated through their teachers.

The application deadline was Monday, February 10, 2020. If you weren't able to display your work this year, we hope you can join us next year!

What kind of things will be in the maker fair?

We currently have works from many different areas including robotics, fiber arts, science, music, painting, crafting, computers, woodworking, and more.
