• Membership/Volunteer Coordinator: 

  • Membership Coordinator: Our membership committee looks for opportunities to grow participation from Geiger families in the PTSA & through school events. We want to make sure we're meeting the needs of Geiger families & helping them stay in the loop of what's going on at the school. Through increasing the engagement of our Geiger families, the PTSA is better able to serve our students & represent the voices & values of our families.   • Volunteer Coordinator: Our volunteer coordinator helps get communications (emails) out to our PTSA members regarding volunteer opportunities. Their main goal is help fill the needs for all sorts of PTSA hosted events whether that be during or after school hours or when we need support with specialized "giveback" weeks such as "Staff Appreciation" etc. If you're interested in getting involved, contact president@geigerptsa.org or volunteercoordinator@ptsa.org 

• Movie Night Coordinator & Arts Night Coordinator: Each of these positions can be created to be a "Committee." So, if you are willing to be a coordinator please reach out to us and we can help create a committee for you to work along with!

  • Movie Night Coordinator: Ensures the movie permit request gets submitted and paid by the PTSA, brainstorms a few movie titles for our community to vote on and organizes the evening with snacks, beverages and volunteers! 

  • Arts Night Coordinator: Is a huge event we have done annually & it also requires a committee & lots of volunteers to run the event. If you're interested, contact president@geigerptsa.org 

• Harvest Fest Chair: Usually this is our annual "Harvest Festival" which requires a committee. Help create a fun autumn event for the Geiger community with a committee standing alongside of you to help! If you're interested in getting involved, contact president@geigerptsa.org

• Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Coalition: Our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Coalition is essential in creating safe spaces for our students & families at Geiger. This coalition is inclusive & reflective of our community & would love to hear from our families about what would help create a sense of belonging & inclusion. • Social Media: Captures special moments at the school's events & manages the PTSA social media accounts (Facebook & IG) while creating content for advertising for all PTSA sponsored events. Feel free to contact us at socialmedia@ptsa.org

• Website Manager: Creating content for advertising for all PTSA sponsored events & updating the PTSA website regularly (as needed.) Feel free to contact us at socialmedia@ptsa.org

• Bulletin Board Manager: Updating the PTSA bulletin board and managing the monthly public PTSA calendar. Updating the seasonal bulletin board in the hallway. 

• Staff Appreciation Committee: Throughout the year, our PTSA looks for opportunities to express our gratitude to our wonderful teachers & staff. If you have ideas, please reach out to our staff appreciation chair - she would love to hear from you! Contact staffappreication@geigerptsa.org

• Fundraising Committee: We are thankful for our families & community members that help contribute to our PTSA so we can support Geiger students & staff throughout the year. Our Fundraising Committee plans events throughout the year to raise funds that are directly invested back into the school. • SCDM / Site-Centered Decision-Making Committee: Tacoma Public Schools is committed to having a parent representative as part of their Site-Centered Decision Making (SCDM) body at every school. Our PTSA SCDM Chair services on the Geiger SCDM & helps relay priorities of our parents & Geiger families. If you are interested in learning more, please contact scdm@geigerptsa.org

• Financial Review Committee: The Financial Review Committee will consist of three PTSA Members. The Committee will meet twice between July 1st and August 31st, 2026 to review the previous financial year & again in the winter for a 6-month budget review.

• Fun Run Committee Chair:  Organizes the Orca Fun Run annually which entails overseeing the collection of T-shirt sizes for all students and staff, setting up a Givebacks collection platform, advertising for the Fun Run, distributing T-shirts, creating a sign-up genius for volunteers, and organizing the day of the event.
