PTSA Meetings
We hope you'll join us for our next meeting. Come learn about what's happening at Geiger, hear a little bit about Montessori methods, and find out how you can get involved to support our students and teachers. You do not have to be a PTSA member to attend our meetings; however, we would LOVE for you to join our membership. Your voice and your contribution matter!
Meetings are held in the Geiger Library and virtually by clicking here on Zoom on the second Tuesday of each month at: 6:15pm - 8pm.
Official business will begin at 6:30pm. Details are published here and on the "Home Page" before the meeting. We also publicize on Facebook (Geiger Montessori PTSA) and Instagram (@geigerptsa).
What can you expect us to discuss during the meeting?
Our Consent Agenda:
The Geiger PTSA uses a consent agenda format; which, allows us to approve standing items. The consent agenda includes the upcoming meeting agenda, the Treasurer's report and committee updates.
Coming to your first PTSA meeting? Welcome!
Our PTSA meetings are open to all Geiger community members. You do not need to be a PTSA member to join - but we'd love to have you sign up!
Join us at 6:15pm to sign in and mingle! Official business begins at 6:30pm.
Our typical meetings include a report from committees, call for volunteers, and introduction of new business / revisit previous business (topics).
Meetings are conducted using Robert's Rules of Order - a format that helps us ensure efficient use of time and prioritize topics the group wants to ensure we cover during our time together. This is also helpful in documenting decision making. However, if this is your first time hearing it - it can feel a bit confusing. We're here to help! We are working on our own tip sheet but for now - here is a helpful guide that shows examples of different "motions" and voting process that you might hear.
If you have an agenda item or question about our PTSA meetings, please contact president@geigerptsa.org and we'll be in touch soon.
